Coppermine E-bike:  Your E-bike will need to comply with the eligibility criteria set out below:
1.      Bikes need to comply with the New Zealand Transport Authority’s definition of a power-assisted cycle which is:
(a) a vehicle that has at least two wheels and that is designed primarily to be propelled by the muscular energy of the rider; and
(b) includes a power-assisted cycle.
Power-assisted cycle means a cycle to which is attached one or more auxiliary propulsion motors that have a combined maximum power output not exceeding 300W

2.      All bikes entering this category will be limited to one battery.  The batteries must be sealed with an appropriate label. The batteries MUST remain in the ebike at all times.
3.      Technical assistance from the outside during the race is not allowed.

Event Day: 18th of October 2025

Event Cost: TBC

Registration: : -  Collect Race Packs: Gravity Nelson, 140 Bridge St, Nelson, Friday 17th 3pm-6pm.

Event briefing: By email, then very briefly 9.30am at the start line.

Event start: -  STAGGERED RACE STARTS, Self seed by group, line up behind the start gate at the bridge:

STAGGERED STARTS TO BE CONFIRMED.

Your time won’t start until you pass the start gate at the far end of the bridge.

Prize giving: As racers finish they will receive their congratulations, race time, and hand in their race chip in exchange for a food and drink voucher.   

Prize giving and Spot prizes in the race village.

Event Village: Will be hosted at the Matai Mountain Bike Hub next to the Maitai Golf Course.

Where to stay: A complete list of accommodation to suit all budgets can be found at www.nelsonnz.com.  However, very conveniently the race village is close to the Maitai Valley Motor Camp.

How to get the event: The event starts at at the Matai Mountain Bike Hub next to the Maitai Golf Course.  Follow the "MTB Event" signs up the Maitai Valley Road.
